• Continuing with Student Council Spirit Week:
o Tomorrow is twin day.  Come dressed the same as your friend and be twins for the day.
o Friday is school-colour day.  Come decked out in navy, green and grey or your IVHS merchandize.  Pep rally last period on Friday.

• Any cadets interested in participating in this year’s Remembrance Day Ceremony please see Mr. Smith at lunch in Guidance on Monday, October 7 for a quick meeting.

• Any students who wish to sing in the Remembrance Day Ceremony please see Ms. Mark at lunch in room 118.

• Any students who wish to perform Contemporary dance in the Remembrance Day Ceremony please see Ms. Adams at lunch in room 225.

• Mr. Fraser would like to meet with anyone who wants to donate their time to volunteer working the PD Recycle Program.  If you are interested, please see Mr. Fraser.

• Any student interested in participating in a school musical next semester is asked to come to a meeting after school on Thursday, October 3 on the stage.

• Elections Canada is looking to hire students to work as poll workers for the upcoming Federal election. Students must be 16 years old or older by October 21; interested students must see Mr. O’Reilly in guidance for more information.

• Guitar club every Tuesday in the music room at lunch.  Please see Ms. Mark if you have questions.

• Candidates in the upcoming federal election will be participating in a panel at Island View on October 10.  If you have questions that you would like to ask, please write them down and bring them to Mr. Pierce in Room 214.

• Mondays and Thursdays at lunch are Open Art Studio in 117, the art room.  All are welcome.  This is meant to be a supervised creative space for students to work on self-directed projects, school-work or just hang out with friends. Bring your lunch.  Check with Ms. Perry if you have any questions.

• Island View's ART CLUB will be starting the first week of October on Wednesdays after school from 2:30-4:30 in the art room. We will start working on directed projects relying heavily on student interests. See Ms. Perry with any concerns/ questions.

• Do you write music, play an instrument, or act?  Do you draw, paint, or write?  If so, join our Creative Club in room 223 at lunch on Wednesdays.
 
• Gym Lunch Time Activities:
Mon and Wednesday – Recreational Play
Tuesday and Thursday – Organized Sport. 
Doors open at 10:50 a.m. and end at 11:25 a.m.

• Students attending the Europe Trip in March will be selling freezies on Firdays at lunch for $1 each, come out and show your support.

• Yearbook at lunch every Monday at lunch in 321.  New members always welcome.

• Students bringing cars to school are asked to drop by the main office and provide us with your name, car make and model and license plate.

• Students are not to park in the gravel HRM lot next door.  You are asked to park in the school’s lot next to Seaside Elementary.
