Dear Teachers and Staff Members at Island View High School,

I am writing to you today to thank you for the incredible job you did preparing IV High School students for the next phase of their lives.  As a mother of four sons, I have had the utmost respect for everyone who works in the education system.

You have had an extraordinary set of challenges put upon you by a world-wide pandemic.  You have been amazing beacons of hope and fortitude in what otherwise was a dismal and at times terrifying four months. 

Not only did you have to completely change the way you taught school, you had to do this while working from home at the same time as your own family needed you the most.

I want you to know that I am so grateful to all of you for the amazing job you all did supporting your students and their parents.  The feedback I received was nothing but gratitude by parents and students for all that you did to help students excel in a turbulent time.

The challenges of the internet not withstanding, I hope and pray that everyone has a much greater appreciation for the skill and dedication it takes to do your jobs. 

On behalf of the province of NS, I want to thank you all for your patience and persistence.  I wish you all the best over the next few months as we move towards a new tomorrow.
