Hello IVHS Class of 2025 Parents
Even though we are approximately 7 months away from Graduation for our Seniors this year, as parents of IVHS Class of 2025 students, the time is now for us to come together as a group to fundraise for the Class of 2025 Prom, so that we can help bring down the cost of tickets for the students, making it more affordable for all to attend.
Prom for our graduates is a school event that is organized and planned by both school administration and Student Prom Committee, but without fundraising being done, it could mean a ticket cost as high as $150 per student. We are calling upon IVHS Class of 2025 parents to help by joining the fundraising committee. We have begun by setting a fundraising target, as well as discussed potential fundraising events to meet it. We are also asking parents to participate in the Prom fundraising events, as every little bit counts. Our goal is to ensure a minimal prom ticket cost for all students.
As a first fundraiser to kick things off, we are excited to be working with Kismet Designs, who are a great local business found in Fisherman's Cove. We will have their full catalog of Customizable Ornaments that family and friends can purchase, but we are also excited to be able to offer some special IVHS Ornaments for a great keepsake. For each ornament sold, the school will get $5, which will go into the student’s individual bank as a credit that will come off that student's ticket price. For example, if John Smith sells 10 ornaments, he will have $50 in his student bank and that will come directly off John Smith’s prom ticket price. We hope to have details finalized by next week and will be sending out further communication along with Ornament catalog and order form… stay tuned!
Our second fundraiser will be in the new year and will be a Gift Card Raffle, but we need to start planning now to be ready to launch in January. For this one we will be reaching out to all Grad Families to ask for a minimum donation of a $25 gift card, and in return, each student that donates a gift card or multiple gift cards, will have the value of the donation go towards that student’s bank as a credit to be taken off their own prom ticket price. All proceeds from this raffle will go towards reducing the overall ticket price for students. So, if you happen to get a gift card over the holidays for somewhere you normally don't shop or eat at, this is a great way to recycle and still get value by reducing your student's ticket price!
We are still working on more ideas for events in the new year. Our next meeting will be Monday Dec 2nd at 7:00 PM at IVHS. If you would like to be part of our committee and join our meetings, please sign up here so we can be sure to include you on our email list for all committee communication.

We understand not everyone can help with the fundraising planning, but we do ask for as much participation as possible for any fundraising activities, as in the end, it is Our Graduates that will benefit. It will also help ease the cost for all families so that in a time of celebration we can help lessen the financial burden – it takes a village so let’s do this!!
As a way to keep up to date on what is happening with Prom Fundraising, please keep watch for emails coming out through school communication like this. There will also be a place on the IVHS website (https://ivh.hrce.ca/) for all things Prom Fundraising, and as well you can always check the Latest News section. And lastly, we have also created a Facebook page that is run by the committee (not the school) to help get the word out and have families participate. So please take a moment to click on link below to join the group.
