• The Public Pop-up Library will be visiting Island View during lunch on Monday. Stop by the to get a free snack, borrow books, magazines and DVDs.

• There will be a photographer at the school on Tuesday morning to take group pictures of team and clubs at Island View, bring your best smile.

• Would you like to be an RCMP Officer after high school? If so, you may be interested in this summer’s Depot Youth Camps. Two youth camps will be held at the RCMP Training Academy in Regina, Saskatchewan. The first camp is open to all students, while the second camp will have an aboriginal focus so will be open to students who are First Nations, Metis or Inuit decent. Students for both camps must be between the ages of 16 and 19. The deadline to apply for this opportunity is March 1; for more information, please check in guidance.  

• Do you write? Do you want to write? Come join the IVH Writer's Circle in room 223 at lunch on Tuesdays. Bring your lunch, your chrome book and your imagination!

• Come out to badminton club in the gym on Mondays and Thursdays after school.  All are welcome but please have appropriate footwear for the gym floor.

• Yearbook committee meetings Mondays at lunch in room 321, new members are welcome.

• Pre-orders for yearbook will be taken on Wednesdays at lunch in the main lobby until March 29.  After that date, a yearbook cannot be purchased.  Cost of yearbook is $15.

• Come to Room 214 after school Tuesdays to play some tabletop games. 

• Coding club is every Thursday after school from 2:15 - 4 PM in room 309. Bring your Chromebook.

• Curriculum Night: February 28 at 6:30 pm- Please attend our second Curriculum Night for the 2018-19 school year to be held on Thursday, February 21st. Curriculum Night gives parents/guardians an opportunity to meet their son’s/daughter’s second semester teachers, and learn about course outcomes and expectations, as well as assessment and evaluation practices. Curriculum night is usually held during the first month of a new semester and is not intended for individual conversations about a student’s progress but rather to lay the foundation for your understanding and partnership in assisting your son/daughter to be successful in his/her studies. Please follow your student’s DAY A schedule.

• Course Selection Meeting for Grade 9 Parents only- There will be an information session for Grade 9 parents/guardians immediately following Curriculum Night in the Cafetorium. This will be presented by Mr. Tim O’Reilly, Guidance Counsellor. If you cannot stay for this course selection process meeting, please contact Mr. O’Reilly if you have any questions.
