• School Hot Dog BBQ Friday at lunch. Free for all!  Please come down to the cafeteria at lunch.

• The cross-country running club will practice Monday after school at 2:20. Please meet Mr. Fougere in the gym.  Also, any runners interested in next week’s meet should notify Mr. Fougere by Monday.

• The Health Action Team will be starting its year off with a meeting in the Youth Health Centre Monday the 23rd at lunch.  Anyone is able to be part of this team.

• The Island View GSA will have its first meeting in the Youth Health Centre on Tuesday the 24th at lunchtime.  Anyone is welcome to join our group.

• Mondays and Thursdays at lunch are Open Art Studio in 117, the art room.  All are welcome.  This is meant to be a supervised creative space for students to work on self-directed projects, school-work or just hang out with friends. Bring your lunch.  Check with Ms. Perry if you have any questions.

• Island View's ART CLUB will be starting the first week of October on Wednesdays after school from 2:30-4:30 in the art room. We will start working on directed projects relying heavily on student interests. See Ms. Perry with any concerns/ questions.

• Do you write music, play an instrument, or act?  Do you draw, paint, or write?  If so, join our Creative Club!  It will take place in room 223 at lunch on Wednesdays
 
• Gym Lunch Time Activities:
Mon and Wednesday – Recreational Play
Tuesday and Thursday – Organized Sport. 
Doors open at 10:50 a.m. and end at 11:25 a.m.

• From Sept 16th - Sept 27th Island View will be taking orders for fresh local fruit/veggie boxes.  The money from our Nourish Your Roots campaign goes back into our Breakfast Program!  Spread the word to friends/family and support local farmers!

• Students attending the Europe Trip in March will be selling freezies on Fridays at lunch for $1 each, come out and show your support.

• Any students interested in being a peer tutor this year are asked to speak with Mr. O’Reilly in guidance. Peer tutoring will take place at lunch or after school and is great to have on your resume or scholarship application.

• Students are not to park in the gravel HRM lot next door.  You are asked to park in the school’s lot next to Seaside Elementary.
