Island View High School

November 17th, 2020

• Here at Island View we acknowledge that mental health is a very important and serious thing.

Mental illness affects people of all ages, education, income levels, and cultures. And, in Canada, out of all the many people who deal with mental health only 1 out of 5 children and youth who need mental health services receives them.

It’s important to treat yourself when dealing with mental health, so from now on we will be doing a mental health tip of the day.  Today’s tip.

Write down something for which you are grateful: Gratitude has been clearly linked with improved well-being and mental health, as well as happiness. The best-researched method to increase feelings of gratitude is to keep a gratitude journal or write a daily gratitude list. But regular practice is recommended to experience long-term benefits. Find something to be grateful for, let it fill your heart, and bask in that feeling.
